Give thanks IN all circumstances...

"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" I Thes. 5:16-18
I'm really glad that God didn't tell us to be thankful for every circumstance. Right now I'm really upset about a really trivial thing - my car. I feel guilty about stressing out over it when I think about how blessed I am. However, this stupid car is about ready to do me in! We've had three alternators in put in it since May. No one can figure out why the car keeps frying them. We took it in on Monday to a place that specializes in foreign cars, and he thought he had it fixed. On the way to school this morning (a 30 mile drive, mind you) the headlights would get dim every time I hit the gas. To top it off, we just bought a car to replace Jeff's, and that went back into the shop two days after we got it! AND I haven't gotten paid since the end of July! Grrrrr......
SO, in an effort to give thanks in every circumstance, here's what I'm thankful for:
- I haven't been stranded on the side of 131 (yet).
-I've been "praying continually" - literally- the whole way to and from school.
-The dealership gave us a loaner car to drive while Jeff's is getting fixed.
-Jeff's working more part-time hours, so it's easier to figure out how to live with one car.
-I get paid for the first time under my new contract tomorrow!
-Jeff's mom has been bending over backwards to help us out with travel arrangements.
Jeff's going to bring the car in tomorrow again...hopefully it will be fixed this time....

Thanks for the comment, Dawn! I am REALLY looking forward to the beginning of November, I'll just say that. I have all the same third trimester complaints as last time, but now I'm chasing after a toddler. Not too much longer, though!
