Acorns to Oaks

Last night we had our Harvest Concert at school. This being my first experience with another school's programs, it was interesting for me. KCWE doesn't have a Christmas program, but they have this concert right before Thanksgiving. It's quite the production. The gym was full, with standing room only. The kids were great. It was so cool to see close to 300 kids doing choreography to "Can't Stop the Beat". But in the middle of it all, I got a little "homesick" for CSS. The kindergarten and 1st grades sang "Acorns to Oaks", which was the title song of a musical we did at CCS a few years ago. I could see my 5th graders from that year, a group that was too cool to do anything somewhat kiddish, break out into song and dance and do the motions. I miss the closeness of the CCS family. I miss seeing "my kids" go through middle school. I miss Faith being part of my class. Although I do not miss living in IN, I do miss you, CCS!
