2011

2011 was a year of high highs and low lows. On March 13, we expanded our family of three with the welcome addition of Andrew Robert. The labor was quick and uneventful; he was born healthy and happy!
Faith was super excited to be a big sister. She never asked to send him back!

Andrew was baptized on Father's Day.In June, we took our first ever vacation. We rented a cottage on Brouwer Lake. Faith had lots of fun playing in the water and fishing with Daddy. It also marked the end of Andrew sleeping on his tummy due to an unfortunate laundry incident.

I loved spending the summer at home, watching both of my kids grow. I am blessed to be a teacher and have the opportunity to spend two months of every year home with my kids.

Andrew has grown up so fast! He started eating solids around 4 months, started scooting around 6 months, and has not stopped eating or moving since.
I completed my course work from Indiana Wesleyan University for my master's degree in education at the end of October. It was a lot of work, but more than worth it!

On November 19, our life took a detour. My mom, Faith, and I were involved in a head-on collision. Faith walked away with two bruises, but Mom and I were a bit worse for the wear. Mom is recovering from back and elbow injuries. I had a collapsed lung, a variety of stitches, and a broken ankle. Despite it all, we have been overwhelmed with blessings. I am seeing God in the little things. He is teaching me to take it slower and not be afraid to ask for help. He is the great healer and both Mom and myself continue to feel the love and prayers of others as healing takes place.

Christmas and Faith's birthday were a bit different for us since many of things we do to prepare did not happen this year. However, we still managed to have fun! Faith got a camera for her birthday. She was super excited.

We managed to get the kids both to smile at the same time.
We look forward to (hopefully) and uneventful 2012. We look forward to complete healing and getting our life back to normal - as normal as life with two little ones can be!

Beautiful children, Dawn! Faith looks just like you!
I'm so glad you are doing better - that car accident sounded terrifying!
