Thankful

"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

It's been over a year since I've posted on this blog. Life was busy, especially with grad classes. I promised myself that I would start blogging again once my Master's program was completed. The program has been completed, and with this weekend's events, I figured this was as good as time as any for me to start again.

Today is Thanksgiving and I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful that I am alive. I am thankful that I have another day, another week, to be a wife and mother. I am thankful that I am here to hear my children laugh, cry, and annoy each other. I am thankful that I still have my mom.

I am thankful for the supportive family that we have that has come together to support us. I am thankful for the overwhelming offers of food and support from Pathway Church and the Kalamazoo Christian Schools.

I am thankful for doctors, nurses, paramedics, and medicine. I am thankful for hiding the Word of God in my heart and the scripture songs that I sang in my head to get through the pain of having a chest tube inserted.

I am thankful for a Toyota Sienna and a Graco car seat that kept us safe when the outcome could easily have been very different.

I am thankful to God for another day.

"Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a change to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."
